TREE UP TO 15 METRTES TALLHighly ornamental tree with rough bark and large, drooping, lanceolate leaves. Produces a wonderful display of bright pink flowers during summer followed by decorative large woody capsules “gum nuts”. Prefers slightly acidic, moist locations and grows well in soil with sand or clay content. As a far north-western Qld species, it thrives in hot summers with high rainfall.
