PALM-LIKE PLANT 5 TO 10 METRES TALLSparsely branched with large leaf tufts & prop roots, creamy flowers followed by orange edible fruit resembling a pineapple, seeds also edible with a high fat & protein content. Tolerates salt laden winds. Leaf fibres can be woven into baskets & mats.
