TREE 8 TO 15 METRES TALLSmooth dark grey trunk with shady canopy of velvety leaves. Clusters of small pale pink flowers in autumn followed by seed capsules that split to reveal black seeds surrounded by edible red flesh. An important winter food source for frugivorous birds. Hardy once established.
