Aristida gracilipes
“Slender Speargrass”
GRASS TO 1.2 METRESElegant, loosely clumping grass with slender wiry stems & hairy leaves. After flowering in summer, fine, delicate-looking seeds weep from long stems. These seeds however have sharp tips & catch in socks, so it is best to plant away from paths. A very hardy plant that will tolerate drought & a range of soils, but does particularly well on stony sites.
