WATERPLANT 2 TO 4 METRES TALLVigorous aquatic reed with brown velvety flower spikes to 25cm. Fleshy leaf bases are edible. Grows in fresh or brackish water to 1.5 metre deep. Food source and shelter for wildlife. Young flower stalks & underground stems are bush tucker.
